Diagnostics of malfunctions

Engine

The engine is started badly or not started in general

Mistakes at start.

  • On the cold engine: Once completely to squeeze out the accelerator pedal and to release. To completely squeeze out coupling and to start the engine.
  • If temperature is below freezing or the car was not operated several days, it is necessary to squeeze out the accelerator pedal two-three times
  • On the warm engine: At start to squeeze out the accelerator pedal to a half. To start the engine. When the engine is started, to release the accelerator pedal. Not to pump over the accelerator pedal.
  • On the hot engine: To completely squeeze out the accelerator pedal and, holding in this situation (not to pump over), to start the engine. After start to release a pedal.

Injector engine: At start not to squeeze out the accelerator pedal.

Diesel engine:

  • On the cold engine: To include ignition when the control lamp goes out, to completely squeeze out pedals of coupling and gas and to start the engine.
  • On the warm engine: Preheat is not required, the engine can be started at once. If the engine is not started at once, to wait and repeat a little start. Before supply of gas to allow the engine some time to work on single turns.

The system of ignition is faulty or polluted. To check system of ignition according to the table of malfunctions.

The power supply system is faulty or polluted. To check a power supply system according to the table of malfunctions.

The starter turns very slowly. To charge the battery. To check a starter.

The gap of valves does not conform to requirements. To adjust a gap of valves.

Engine lubrication system

The control lamp does not burn after inclusion of ignition

The oil pressure sensor is faulty. To include ignition. To disconnect a wire of the sensor and to close on weight. If the lamp lights up, to replace the sensor.

On the sensor tension, contacts of a korrodirovana does not move. To check electric wires and contacts.

The control lamp is faulty. To replace a control lamp.

The control lamp does not die away after start of the engine

Oil too warm. Normally, if the control lamp goes out after gas supply.

The oil pump is worn-out. To remove the oil pump and to check it, if necessary to replace.

Damages of bearings. To remove the engine.

Too low pressure of oil on small turns

The reducing valve stuck abroach because of pollution. To remove and check the valve.

Too high pressure of oil at speed over 3000 rpm

The reducing valve does not open because of pollution. To remove and check the valve.

Engine cooling system

Temperature of cooling liquid is too high, the arrow is in red area

In system of too little cooling liquid. The broad tank has to be filled to a mark. If necessary to add liquid. To check tightness of the cooling system.

The thermostat does not open, cooling liquid circulates only on a small contour. Whether to check a warm top hose of cooling liquid. Otherwise to remove and check the thermostat, if necessary to replace it. In way: to remove the thermostat. Without thermostat the engine reaches the normal working temperature later, or does not reach at all therefore to replace the faulty thermostat as soon as possible.

Too small tension of a multiridge maple belt of the water pump. To check and adjust a tension.

Radiator plates are polluted. To blow a radiator compressed air from the engine.

The radiator is littered because of limy deposits or a rust, the lower hose of a radiator cold inside. To replace a radiator.

The electric fan does not work. To check durability of landing and contact of the plug on a thermoswitch and the motor of the fan. To check a thermoswitch. In way: To disconnect the plug from a thermoswitch. The fan will constantly work until ignition is included. As a rule, additional cooling with the fan is necessary only at the movement in a city cycle or short pieces. The radiator cover is faulty. To make check under pressure (it is carried out in a workshop).

System of ignition

The engine is started badly or not started in general

There is no ignition spark, a distributor cover damp, polluted. To clear and dry up a distributor cover.

Cracks in a distributor cover, the burned-through channels. To replace a distributor cover.

The contact piece of coal in a distributor cover is worn-out. To replace a piece of coal.

The distributor runner is faulty. To replace the runner.

Too high resistance of the runner of the distributor. To replace the runner.

Too high resistance of cables of ignitions/tips of candles. To replace cables ignitions/tips of candles.

Tips of candles are connected incorrectly. To connect tips of candles in the sequence 1-3-4-2.

Spark plugs crude because of numerous attempts of start. To clear and dry up spark plugs.

Spark plugs outside damp or are polluted. To clear and dry up spark plugs, to put on protective silicone caps candles and tips.

Too low power of the coil of ignition. To check durability of landing and contact of wires on the ignition coil.

Cracks and channels of a progar in the ignition coil. To replace the ignition coil.

Loss of tension because of a contact of electric connections or wires about engine hoses. To lay wires properly.

The ignition moment is strongly shifted. To adjust the ignition moment.

Supply voltage of the monitor is less than 9,5 V. Proverit battery charge degree.

Carburetor

The cold engine is not started

The starting gate is not closed. To check automatic equipment of cold start.

The fan is not switched off

Noise in the field of the heater fan

Battery

Too low level of electrolyte
