Check of the shock-absorber

The following signs indicate the faulty shock-absorber:

  • Long vibration of a body at roughnesses of the road.
  • Rocking of a body in the presence of the following one by one roughnesses of the road.
  • Raising of a forward part of the car at dispersal.
  • Wheels jump up even on the normal road.
  • Failure of the brake system when braking (can have also other reasons).
  • The unstable movement on turn because of bad keeping to Coca".
  • Noise at the movement. The shock-absorber can be checked by hands. However, exact check of the shock-absorber is possible only by means of a Shock-tester (the shock-absorber is installed) or the special car for check of shock-absorbers.

Check by hands

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove the shock-absorber.
  2. Holding the shock-absorber in adjusting situation, to stretch and squeeze its at least three times. The shock-absorber on all length of the course has to move evenly hard and without breakthroughs, besides, should not be heard any unusual noise.
  1. To completely move a rod of the piston and then to release. The piston has to start back with a uniform speed.
  1. At excellent job small traces of oil should not become a reason for replacement of the shock-absorber.
  2. At strong loss of oil the shock-absorber should be replaced.
  3. To install the shock-absorber.
