If it is required to find malfunction in electric system or in addition to install electric equipment, not to do without scheme representing course of current and cable connections. The corresponding contour of current has to be surely closed, otherwise current will not proceed. For example, it is not enough when tension is put to the plus plug of a headlight, and the contour on contact of weight is not closed.

Therefore the cable of mass of the battery is connected to a body. However this connection with weight is not enough, and the corresponding consumer has directly a wire of weight whose isolation, as a rule, has black color. Switches, the relay, safety locks, measuring devices, electric motors or other electric elements can be built in separate contours of current. To have an opportunity to connect these devices it is correct, separate cables have different colors.

Colors of cables

Letters on separate conductors indicate color of a cable:

1 — a symbol (example)

2 — a one-color cable

3 — black

4 — a cable with strips

5 — white (color of a cable)

6 — red (color of a strip)

Single letters designate a one-color cable.

Example:

In — black. At two-color cables the first letter indicates primary color of a cable, the second letter indicates color of a strip.

Example:

W/R designates a white cable with a red strip. The letter consisting a row serves in brackets for designation of the corresponding cable plait.

Example:

(F) — a forward cable plait in the dashboard and in the right motive compartment.

Plugs and nests are designated on the scheme as follows:

Identical plugs are connected on the scheme by the shaped line. The plug without designation of color colourless or white. Nests which are not used are designated by an asterisk (*).

If connection of weight is carried out by a cable, the point of weight is designated by number. If connection of weight is carried out directly through a body, it is designated on the scheme by the painted-over point.
