Check/adjustment of the moment of ignition

Usually the ignition moment due to mechanical wear is not displaced. However for the purpose of safety, MAZDA ordered regular check of the moment of ignition within maintenance. The ignition moment also has to be adjusted if the distributor was removed. The tachometer and a stroboscope are necessary for check and adjustment of the moment of ignition.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To warm up the engine up to the working temperature and to muffle it.
  2. To connect a tachometer and a stroboscope according to instructions of the manufacturer.

  1. On some models it is necessary to connect the system MAZDA switch (SST 49B0199A0) to the diagnostic plug which is on a casing of the left depreciation rack. To install the switch A in a position 1, the test switch on SELF TEST.
  1. If this device is absent, it is necessary to peremknut contacts of GND and TEN a wire piece. To what models this requirement extends.
  1. If is available, to disconnect a vacuum hose of the vacuum device on the distributor and to stop up with a suitable pure bolt. At the dual vacuum device can be that it is necessary to disconnect only one of two hoses.
  2. To start the engine and to leave to work at single turns. Necessary speed when checking.
  3. To disconnect everything consumers of the electric power (the radio receiver, heating of back glass etc.) and the conditioner.
  1. To light with a stroboscope a tag on a belt pulley of the crankshaft.
  1. The moment of ignition is adjusted truly if the yellow tag on a belt pulley is motionless opposite to the corresponding value of the moment of ignition on a casing of a gear belt. Values of the moment of ignition in the table.
  1. If the moment of ignition does not correspond to demanded, to weaken tightening a bolt on the distributor and to adjust the ignition moment turn of the distributor.
  1. To tighten tightening a bolt on the distributor with effort of 25 Nanometers.
  2. To take out a bolt from a vacuum hose and to put on a hose the vacuum device of the distributor.
  3. To disconnect the system switch or a crossing point from the diagnostic plug.
  4. To switch-off test devices at the switched-off ignition.
  5. In a workshop it is possible to check still the centrifugal and vacuum shift of the distributor at various speed. It is required only at malfunction of system of ignition.
