System of preheat of the diesel engine

On the cold engine spontaneous ignition temperature due to only one compression is not reached therefore the engine needs preheat.

For this purpose in each combustion chamber the glow plug is screwed in. The candle consists of the case and the pressed thermal core. When giving tension the thermal winding in the core for several seconds heats up to temperature of +850 °C thanks to what preheat duration before start seldom makes longer than 10 seconds. When the control lamp of preheat on the dashboard dies away, the engine can be started.

For bystry warming up of the engine preheat works also after start of the engine. Duration of preheat is regulated by the monitor depending on temperature of cooling liquid. The device management is behind the average console under the air channel.

The monitor preheat obtains information on engine temperature from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid. On the basis of the obtained data the monitor determines duration of preheat and size of current.
